Personal Addition

Today is December 10th 2012, exactly one week today until my 18th birthday.  In my opinion this is one of the most important birthdays!  In exactly one week I will be an adult!  This is actually crazy for me to think about.  I've heard that being 18 opens up a lot of opportunities, but with that being said there is also a lot more responsibilities.  To be honest, I don't know what to think of this yet,  Obviously it is going to be great to get more freedom but it will probably be hard too.  I think that I am going to like it in the end though.  I am the first one out of my really close friends to turn 18.  My birthday should be a lot of fun and I can't wait!

Personal Addition

This is a picture of me, my mom, my grandma and my great grandma.  It was taken a few years ago.  Right now my great grandma is actually 102 years old.  Up until recently she was still living in an apartment all by herself.  Now she has moved to the independent retirement home that I work at.  I really like it because I am able to see her a lot more often.   I really like this picture because it represents 4 generations of my family.

Personal Addition

Both of these pictures are my old cheerleading teams. I used to cheer with the middle school, Golden Gate Cheer team, and also with a different club team called aerials elite cheer.  The top picture was in grade 7 and the bottom was in grade 9.  There are 4 different positions while stunting.  The flyer (on top) the two bases (on either side under the flyer), the third (behind the Flyer), and the front third (infront of the flyer).  A front third is not required, but if needed it is good for extra help.  In both of these pictures I am the flyer.  Usually the flyer is the most flexible person.  I do  not fly anymore because I got really tall.  Now I third!  I have done all 4 positions, and I love them all!

Personal Addition

This is another personal addition that I decided to add.  I took this picture at the school in grade 9.  I think that it actually turned out kind of neat.  I edited it and played around with the colouring.  I think it turned out nice and I thought that I would share it.  In cheerleading, this is called a toe-touch jump.

The first comment that I posted was on Victorias Blog.  The reason I posted on her blog was because I sit behind her in class and I always find that she is writing books.  I thought it seemed interesting, so I decided to go and check it.  I found that she really enjoys writing and seems to be pretty good at it.  The question I asked her was if she ever planned to publish any of her books.

The next comment that I left was on Carol's blog.  I decided to comment on her rambling autobiography.  I really liked it, and I thought that it was well done.  I commented mostly asking about how she is enjoying her trip here in Canada.  I think it is very cool and brave to have come to a different country all b y herself!

The  last comment that I left was on Christie's blog.  The reason I posted on her blog was because she left a comment on mine, so I thought I would go and visit hers as well.  I was looking on her blog and noticed a story that she posted.  She wrote this story herself.  In my opinion, it was a really good story.  SHe clearly put time into writing it and I wanted to tell her that she did a very good job.  I also asked her if she was planning on maybe writing a full book and getting it published.  I think that it would be awesome if my classmates published books!

This is a video of me learning a new tumbling skill at cheer.  Hopefully within a few weeks, I will be able to to it by myself!

Twitter Fiction - Writing Reflection

Twitter Fiction

The past few days, I have been trying to figure out a good idea for what I should write my twitter fiction story about.  For me, coming up with an idea of what to write about is the hardest part.  I finally thought of a good idea to write about.  I'm not going to share this idea because I think that you should read it when it is all finished.  I have only written a few tweets so far.  Even though this doesn't seem like I have done much, lots of the planning I do is in my head and I pretty much have my whole story figured out.  Now the next step for me would be trying to get it into 140 character tweets.  This shouldn't be too hard, but clearly there will be a few challenges along the way.  I decided that I will write only one story for all 30 tweets.  My reasoning for this is because it is hard for me to come up with a bunch of different ideas.  I like to come up with one good story idea and write a lot about it.  Because of this, I am writing a long twitter fiction story.  On top of all that, we have a few elements that we need to include into our stories such as pictures and also character descriptions.  I have thought of ways to do both.  At the beginning of my story I plan on have at least a tweet or two just describing my main character.  For the pictures, I also have an idea in mind.  The setting of my story is the ocean/beach type setting.  I plan to incorporate a few nice pictures of beaches.  I feel like pictures of the setting will help the reader relate and be into the story even better.  In the end, My twitter fiction will probably need a few more days to finish up.  I have to get the rest of my ideas written down and then edit it.  I am enjoying this project a lot and hopefully it continues to go well.  I will post a picture of my rough draft once I get a few more ideas written down on it.

Cheer Extreme

Over the years, I have watched so many cheerleading videos.  Youtube has thousands of them.  There is one team in particular that I really enjoy watching.  The team is called Cheer Extreme.  This is one of the best cheerleading teams in the world.  Over the past few 3 years, they have won Worlds 2 times!!  In 2010 they won, and also last year for the 2012 competition.  The Cheer extreme routines in my opinion are the best.  They always have amazing pyramids to watch.  Some of the most famous cheerleaders are on this team.  Last year in Atlanta I was able to meet one of them.  Her name is Erica Englebert.  She has a lot of videos on the internet of her cheerleading and I have been watching  videos of her for years now and she just keeps getting better.  It was very exciting to get to meet her and get a picture with her last year!  She is definately one of my role models with cheerleading.
Last weekend was Cheer Extreme's Showcase.  This is the first time their routine is open for the public to see.  The Senior Elite routine is by far my favourite.  This is a large senior all girl level five team.  It is by far the most intense and crazy routine I have seen so far.

This is the video of their routine this year.

Personal Addition

I don't really have a topic or anything to be writing about for this personal addition.  So I'm just going to write.  I didn't really do very much of an introduction when I first started this blog, so I might go into more detail on that.

Okay, so my name is Missy Levasseur.  No, Missy is not my real name.  I have just always gone by it.  It confuses a lot of people when I first meet them.  My real name is Meagan.  Meagan really doesn't have much of a connection to Missy, but I like it.  I think that Missy suits me more right now anyways.  In the future I will probably go by Meagan again, because it is more professional.  Yes, my last name Levasseur is french.  My grandpa was french but no one else in my family speaks it.  I am in french immersion right now because my parents wanted me to learn how to speak another language.  I guess it was an okay idea, I mean I'm doing pretty good in school.

Next topic, I guess I will talk about my favourite sport, cheerleading.  I am in love with this sport.  Currently on the senior team Storm Lightning as well as the open team Storm Black Ice.  I love both of these teams so much.  I can't even describe how much I love this sport.  I would give up everything to be able to cheerlead.  I don't think anyone would understand how amazing the sport is until they tried it.  Every single cheerleader I know feels the same way.  Its amazing.  So anyways, cheer takes up a lot of time.  Close to 9 hours a week.  I love every single second of it though and there's not really anything I'd rather be doing.  I have made the most amazing friends ever through cheerleading as well.  It is just an awesome sport.

Currently, I have 2 jobs.  One of which I serve at an old folks home.  I love this job.  I have been working there for almost 2 and a half years.  I love working with the people and I think its great experience.  I also work at a restaurant making salads.  I like this job as well.  I have always enjoyed working.  It feels good to be independent and making money.  I have been working since I was in grade 7, so I don't really remember what it was like to not have a job to go to.  So in the end even on those days where I do not want to work, I remember that it will be okay and I actually like working.   It is definitely worth it.

Basically my whole life is cheer and work.  2 teams and 2 jobs is a lot to handle.  In my spare time I do like to have fun with friends and everything!  But in the end I love what I am doing and I love my life so I don't really want to change it.

Writing Reflection #8

Newspaper Blackout Poetry

The newspaper blackout poetry in my opinion was a new and interesting way to write.  I have never done anything like it.  I did enjoy doing it but I also found it a little bit hard.  I haven't posted mine on my blog yet, but I think I will as soon as I can.  The reason that I found this way of writing a little bit challenging is trying not to copy the article that was already written.  It was hard to try to use the words without that same idea.  In the end, I decided not to read the article first, which made it a little bit easier.  On top of that It was also a little hard when you couldn't find a word that would make the most sense.  In some cases i just used letters to make the word but other times i just decieded to try and find another word that would work.
There were also good things about doing this assignment though.  It taught me how to write with only some words being available to you.  I learned to replace the words that I wanted to use with ones that would still make sense but that were different.  In a way it changed my writing.  Usually my writing is pretty simple, but these turned out to be a little bit for descriptive.
I also learned a few things about myself as a writer.  First of all, I have enjoyed all of the different ways we have written so far in this course.  I really enjoy learning new ways to write, they will help me in the future for sure!! In the end, I hope to learn even more ways of writing!

Personal Addition

This is another personal addition that I decided to add.  I added this again because I really enjoy taking pictures.  Not only taking them but also editing them after.   I took graphic arts for 3 years and I really enjoyed it.  Unfortunately, it didn't work with my timetable this year so I couldn't continue, but I still do a little bit in my spare time at home for fun.

Reading Reflection #8

Something Borrowed
Emily Griffin
Pg. 37 - 47
This week, I continued reading the book Something Borrowed.  So far, this book just keeps getting better and better.  At the beginning I wasn’t very interested in it, but as I keep reading, I am getting more into it.  There are many things going on in the novel at this point.  A few of which I can relate to and make connections.
In the story, Darcy is the best friend who gets everything.  I am sure that everyone has or has had a friend like this.  She is someone who basically just has pure good luck.  Just when you think maybe there luck is gone, they come back and get something else.  Rachel, the main character of this story also has connections with me.  In my opinion I am more like Rachel.  She works hard for what she has and earns basically everything.  I really like this story because I can relate to both of these main characters and understand what they are thinking and going through.
There are so many different ways that this story could end.  I have no idea which way it is going to go.  One idea is that Darcy finds out about Rachel and Dex.  If that happens, then there could be a wedding cancelled, and also fewer friendships.  I could also see the story keep going with Darcy never finding out what happened between the two of them.  Hopefully the story will continue to give us more hints as we keep reading.  I guess I’ll just have to keep reading to figure out what happens next!

Reading Reflection 7

Reading Reflection #7

This week I managed to get a lot of reading done. I get Mondays and Fridays of reading in my other English class as well as another period of reading in this creative writing course. This has given me time to finish my second book this school year. It may not seem like a lot of reading for some people, but as I said, I've never really been much of a reader.

An Abundance of Katherines
John Green
(end of book)

So this week I was able to Finish An Abundance of Katherines.  I really enjoyed the book.  In my opinion the beginning went a little slow for me and I wasn't really into it, but once I started to understand the characters and really get into it, I couldn't but the book down.  I really like the whole story of this novel.  It's crazy to think that even for someone who is so smart and thinks they know what they want to do with their life, could always change there mind.  Colin thought he only liked Katherines, until he met Lindsey.  I really like how somehow like Lindsey, a girl you struggled to find herself could help a guy like Colin realise that being known isn't everything.  They both learn together that you have to be yourself and not try to impress others.  In the end I really enjoyed the book.  All the events that took place were interesting.  I could relate to what the characters were going through because they were all about the same age as me.  I personally think it would be awesome to go for a road trip with my friends and have an adventure.  Well see what happens.

Something Borrowed
Emily Griffin
Pages 1 - 37

This week I also started a new book.  Even though I am just starting the book, so far I really enjoy it.  There hasn't really been much that I can relate to so far besides one thing.  Rachel has always been wondering about her future.  She seems to always be thinking ahead and wondering what it is going to be like.  I am kind of like that in a way.  I always wonder what I am going to be like when I'm older, where I'm going to live and who my friends are going to be.  So we have that in common.  I am sure I will find a lot more connections between me and the book once I read a little bit more.

Post High School Thinking

Being in my last year of highschool, there are a lot of things that are going to change.  I have a few plans for the future.  First of all, I am going to go to university.  I'm not planning on taking a year off but instead, go straight into it in Spetmeber.  I personally do not know what I want to do for a job.  I have so many options.  I love animals, and always wanetd to be a vet, I also think i would love a job as an orthodentist as well as maybe even a lawer.  There are just so many choices.  On top of that, I am not planning on staying in Winnipeg forever.  I think it's too cold for me here and I would rather live in a bigger city.  So hopefully I will get the chance to move as soon as I can.  This blog should help me persue my goals after hishschool.  I really enjoy doing photography, editing pictures, and creating logos as well.  I can always post all of my work on my blog for people to see.
Another way that my blog could help me in the future is for things such as new jobs and scholarships.  If I keep on updated things at least weekely, it will show that I am dedicated and a hard worker.  My plan is to keep my blog going even once this semster is done.  This will help me for many things.  When someone googles my name,  now a whole section of my class work is avalable for anyone to see.  In the end this blog is only benefitting me.  I really like posting personal additions to it, and I also enjoy sharing my class work.

Writing Reflection #4

Writing Reflection #4

The Six word memoirs, in my opinion were a really good assignment. I really enjoyed making them, and I thought they they all turned out pretty good. I thought that it was a a good project because it wasn't super easy but also wasn't very hard. The whole concept of putting words together with a picture to tell a story is pretty simple. The hard part is the use of only six words! You have to chose your six words very carefully, because you want it to be clear but still detailed.

I learnt a lot about this micro form of writing. First of all I learnt that you can tell a story with only 6 words. It almost seems impossible, but when you add the picture it adds a lot more detail. I also learnt that I really enjoyed making these. I thought it was really fun!

As I was doing this project, I learnt that I enjoyed making the visual better than writing the 6 words. Even though I also enjoyed creating the 6 words, I have always like taking pictures and editing them. Because of that, I liked editing the pictures the best!
While doing this project, I have learnt that I enjoy incorporating visuals with my text. I think that it helps me explain what I am writing about. I really like how this course has helped me figure out what kind of writing I like best. I am really enjoying this creative writing class, and all of the projects that we have been doing.

Personal Addition #3

This is anther personal addition that I decided to add.  This is a picture that i took of a flower in the summer.  Although I really like all seasons, I'd have to say that summer is my favourite.  There is so  much to do in the summer and I love spending time outside!  I think that summer is also so pretty!  the grass is nice and green and there are a lot of flowers.  I love how it is nice and sunny!  So seeing summer go is kind of sad! Hopefully this winter won't be very cold!  So anyways, I thought I would share one of my pictures and explain why I love summer so much!

Personal Addition #2

This is a personal addition that I decided to add because it is now fall and I love how fall looks!  I think that all of the trees are so pretty.  I took these pictures myself about a week ago.  I really like taking pictures and will probably post more as personal additions.

This is my digital foot print sketch. I included the websites and items that I use in a day to day basis.

Six Word Memoir #6

This is a six word memoir that I did based on my cheerleading team.  This shows that a team is really something that is important especially with a cheerleading team.  For cheerleading, everyone need to be there for everything to work out.  If someone misses a practice it means that other team mates are missing out on practice as well.  Our cheer team is really close and everyone gets a long very well with each other.  We all work together to learn new stunts and try new things!  Accomplishing a new skill feels great especially when everyone worked hard together to achieve it!  In the end i think my team is like a family because we are all close and we spend a lot of time together! I love it.

Six Word Memoir #5

This memoir really shows the importance of having a family.  It shows that if you enjoy the people who you are with, that you will have a good time no matter what.  This picture is of me, my brothers and my mom on one of our family trips.  I really like it because my family used to go on a trip every summer.  We always went on road trips and I think that they are a lot of fun!  This is one of many pictures that I could have used for these specific words.  I chose this one because the background is cool and I love old pictures.

Six Word Memoir #4

This is my fourth six word memoir.  This is a picture (from left) of my brother, my cousin, my twin brother and then me!  This picture was taken on one of my family trips to Toronto.  I have family in Toronto and we go there every once and a while to visit.  I love looking at old pictures.  It reminds me of all the fun that i used to have with my friends and family.  I can still look back and remember exactly that moment.  It is crazy how fast time goes by and it doesn't feel like this was over ten years ago.  I love memories with my family having a good time, and it is really fun to be able to look back and smile at the past.

Six Word Memoir #3

This is one of my favourite memoirs that I did.  A little under 2 years ago, I decided that i was going to donate my hair to cancer.  I wasn't completely sure that I wanted to do it, but i finally decided that I should!  There are many reasons that helped me decide to donate it.  One was that it was for a good cause.  If i had cancer and got a nice wig because someone donated their hair i would appreciate it a lot.  Also, hair grows back so why not cut off a lot and do something with it.  I decided to donate 12 inches!  And it felt so good to do it!  I encourage everyone to do the same thing!

Six Word Memoir #2

This is my second six word memoir.  For this one I chose my six words to be "I want to move far away".  I think that at some point in my life I will hopefully get the chance to move away.  I really want to move somewhere are basically start a new life.  I think that adventures are exciting and moving somewhere else would defiantly be an adventure.  I took this picture on a plane ride last year and I think that is goes good with my writing because it represents moving.  I do love all my family and friends in Winnipeg, but I think moving is a great opportunity to meet new people!  On top of that in my opinion there aren't very many opportunities in winnipeg, and its cold!  I'd like to move to a bigger city and a place that doesn't have very cold winters.

Six Word Memoir #1

This is my the first 6 word memoir that I made.  I thought that I would do this idea because it represents my family and my life.  I have 3 brothers and all of them are younger then me.  I used to really want a sister when I was younger and every time was disappointed with a brother.  Now I am happy that I have 3 brothers because I think it's really interesting  and I never really get into fights with them!  I love it! they are all different and I get along pretty well with all of them.  To me having a big family is great! there is always so  much to do and always people to spend time with.  I would hate to be an only child because it seems really lonely.  In the end I think that this 6 word memoir really describes my life and thats why i chose it.

Reading Reflection #4

Reading Reflection #4
An Abundance of Katherines
John Green
Pg. 1-37

Last Friday, I started to read a new book.  The book that I picked is called An Abundance of Katherines.  This book is written my John Green, the author if the novel that I just finished reading.  I picked this book because I really like the way that John Green writes.  In my opinion, his books are very easy to read, and interesting.  I like how in both of the books, the main characters have been around my age and in both situations, I can relate to them in some way.

My first question that I have for this book, is why Colin is obsessed with girls witht the name of katherine.  He doesn't seem to be interested in any other girls.  I don't understand this because first of all it is just a name, and a name doens't define who you are.  Perhaps in his head, he thinks that all Katherines are the same, but if this is true, he probably shouldn't still be looking for another one because it clearly hasn't worked out and he has had 17 chances so far.  So hopefully, with reading more I will find out what is so special about the name katherine and hopefully he will realize that a name shouldn't make a difference.

So far I have already seen connections with myself to the main character, Colin.  First of all Colin just graduated from Highschool, and I will be graduationg this year.  On top of that he is most likely going to go to university, which is something that I plan on doing also.  Those are the two main connections that I have with the main character.

In the end, I am interested in this book so far, and I think that I will enjoy it.  Hopefully I can find more connections with the book to myself because this always makes the reading more interesting for me.

Writing Reflection #3

Writing Reflection

Writing six word memoirs for me went pretty good.  I really liked writing them because you could write about whatever you wanted to.  I chose to stay in the classroom to start writing my memoirs because I thought I would concentrate better.  I did concentrate well, and I got most of the categories completed.  I really like this kind of writing because I think it’s pretty easy.  I like being able to write about anything I want.  The only part that I found a little bit difficult is connecting an original picture to my text.  While writing the text, I had to keep in mind what pictures I already had as well as what pictures I could take.  Although it doesn’t seem very hard, it can be a little bit when you want pictures of your friends in the past for example.  Throughout writing these, I learned that I really enjoy writing short forms are writing.  On top of that writing about my own life and own experiences is a lot more interesting to me than making up a story.  In the end I definitely think that the hardest part was getting a picture to go with the text.  After that was done, it was definitely rewarding to see the whole thing completed.

Blogging is going pretty good for me.  The hardest part though is finding the time to add more personal additions.  I am on 2 cheerleading team that take up almost 10 hours a week and I also have 2 jobs.  Because of this it is a little hard to find the time to be adding personal things but I will hopefully be able to change that.  I hope to see my blog develop a lot more for this upcoming week.  For this week I plan on adding a personal addition every 2nd day, so that I can catch up.  The most rewarding part for me so far has been seeing my blog develop and become all about me.  I also like how all of my projects for this class are put on here.  It helps keep me organized and helps me stay on top of handing in my assignments.

Reading Reflection #3

Reading Reflection #3
The Fault in our Stars
John Green
Pg. 160-313

This week’s reading went very well.  I was able to finish The Fault in our Stars.  For me, this is pretty good considering I’ve never really been much of a reader.  I really enjoyed the book.  Like the cover said, the book is both funny and sad at the same time.  You wouldn’t think that a book could actually be funny and sad, but it definitely was.  I would recommend reading this book to pretty much anyone.  It is an easy book to read and you get into it pretty quickly.  There isn’t much that you need to think about or figure out while reading this book, which made reading it easy and enjoyable.

Throughout the book, I was really able to see the characters change throughout the story.  Hazel was definitely the character that changed the most.  She went from being a sad teenage girl who didn’t care about life or dying, to a happy person who cared about other as well as herself.  I believe that she changed because of Augustus.  He really helped her grow during the story.  Hazel was never really someone who wanted to get out and do things; she enjoyed staying at home watching TV.  After she met Augustus, this changed completely.  She now enjoyed her days, spending time with either him or Isaac.

The title of the novel is The Fault in Our Stars.  To me, this title explains the story very well.  I believe that the fault in the stars is represented by all the bad things that happen to people for no reason.  Why do some people get cancer while others live a healthy life?  What determines who gets what?  The title is proving that nobody’s life can be perfect.  It shows us that no matter how good of a person you are, like Augustus for example, there’s still always a chance that something can go wrong; the fault.  It kind of sucks if you think about it, but it is completely true in reality.  There’s no explanation for it.  In the end when I put it all together I believe that the fault is representing in the case of the story the cancer to all of the teenagers, and the stars are representing everyone.

Cheerleading

This is a picture of my cheerleading team, at the Canadian Nationals Cheerleading Competition in Niagara Falls last year.  I am posting this picture on my blog because cheerleading is my favourite sport.  There are so  many aspects of cheerleading that make it such a great sport.  First of all its a combination of dancing, gymnastics and stunting.  On top of that cheerleading is a great team sport.  You need every single team member to be at practises and competitions in order for it to go as planned.  Currently I am on two cheerleading teams.  I am on the senior team as well as the open team!  Practises for both teams together end up being close to ten hours a week.  I love every minute of it!  I hope to continue cheerleading for the years to come and maybe make the university cheerleading team.

Reading Reflection #2

Reading Reflection #2
The Fault in our Stars
John Green
Pg. 51-160

While reading this novel, I have started to like certain characters more than others.  So far Augustus is my favourite character in the book.  There are many reasons that make him stand out more than other characters.  First of all, I see Augustus as a very genuine person.  He shows this trait many times throughout the novel.  An example that proves this is that he has never lied about anything to Hazel.  Whenever she asks a question, he answers it truthfully.  Another example that proves that Augustus is genuine is how he gives his wish to Hazel.  He only had one wish and he decided to use it to benefit Hazel’s life, not his own.  I think that is a crazy thing to do considering she used her wish without giving much thought to it and going to Disney Land.  Another great thing about Augustus is that treats Hazel with a lot of respect.  He doesn’t look at her like a regular cancer patient, but a 16 year old girl instead.  Another comment that I have about Augustus is that he is very strong.  This is shown many times as well.  First of all I think that the fact that he puts a cigarette in his mouth without lighting it shows his strength.  He explains that he is holding the thing that could potentially kill him right in his mouth.  This shows us that he is strong minded.

Hazel is also one of my favourite characters throughout the novel.  I think that she is an amazing person.  Hazel is also a very strong person just like Augustus.  This could be the reasoning behind why they get along so well.  Hazel demonstrates her strength throughout her fight with cancer.  Hazel has been to the hospital countless times, has stopped breathing, and her life has changed completely from the average 16 year old girl.  Throughout all of this Hazel manages to fight to live.  Not only that but I also believe that Hazel is very competitive.  This characteristic is shown at the support group.  Hazel wants to prove to everyone that she is doing okay and feeling good even when she is not.  Instead of using the elevator, Hazel decides to take the stairs along with carrying her air tank.  I also see Hazel as a stubborn person.  Although being stubborn isn’t always known to be a good thing, Hazel demonstrates it in a positive way.  An example is that she is certain that she will make it to Amsterdam to meet her favourite writer.

One of my least favourite characters at this point in the novel is Isaac.  I feel really bad for Isaac and everything but I think that he should try to see things from other people’s point of view.  Ii understand that Isaac is sad about his girlfriend breaking up with him but he should definitely look at it in her shoes.  She is only a young her herself, and needing to take care of a blind boyfriend would be very complicated.  This is a sad situation but I think that Isaac almost feels too sorry for himself and thinks that he has it the worst.

During my reading, I have also been able to make a few connections including to myself and to the world.  The first connection that I found was when Hazel was reading people wall posts on Facebook for a girl who past away from cancer.  I made a connection to myself because recently there have been a few people my age that have past away.  I read all of the wall posts and I feel like I understood exactly what Hazel felt when she was reading them.  It is very sad to read all of the posts.  The other connection that I found was a text to world connection.  In the book Hazel and Augustus both talk about the Cancer Wish Foundation.  This reminded me of the Children’s Wish Foundation that grants wishes for sick kids.

In conclusion, I feel as if I understand the characters better than I did before.  I have been able to see what there characteristics are and how they play a part in the novel.  On top of that, I have also been able to make a few connections with the book and myself as well as the world.

Introduction Post

My name is Missy Levasseur and this is my creative writing blog.  I hope to write a few times every week, and hopefully become a better writer.  I am currently 17 years old and i was born  on December 17th 1994.  One of my favourite things to do is cheerleading.  I have been doing it for 6 years.  I have one twin brother and 2 other brothers in my family.  My favourite courses in school are math and all kinds of sciences.  I do enjoy reading, but I don't always have time for it.  After Highschool i plan on going to the University of Manitoba, and hopefully becoming an orthodentist.  It will be a lot of work and time but I think that it will be worth it in the end.
